Maggie Newberry is a whip-smart advertising copywriter who’s fast on her feet and a little stunned to realize that she’s over 30 and still hasn’t found true love. When her long-missing sister ends up dead, Maggie flies to the south of France to find the little niece that no one in the family even knew existed. Along the way, she finds handsome, sexy Frenchman Laurent Dernier to help search for the girl. Meanwhile, her sister’s murderer sets his sights on the little girl—and Maggie.

The story line was interesting, but it moved really slow. I had a hard time finishing the book but I did finish it. It is not a book I would recommend reading.

Loved the characters of this book. Enjoyed trying to figure out who killed Maggie’s sister. Loved that the story had a happy ending and it was entertaining to read.
  • Too cheesy

I wanted to love it but thought it just too far-fetched and cheesy, not to mention immature. I actually found myself being frustrated rather than entertained.

Enjoyed this story very much. Great storyline, although a bit far fetched at times. A first, but I would read more books from this author.
  • Not worth the time

I couldn't believe or care about any of the characters. Every character felt more like a shallow and exaggerated caricature than a real person. This is basically a cheap romance novel fantasy with the connection to France as a gimmick. If you are looking for a mystery or crime fiction don't bother with this book.

Susan Kieran-Lewis hooked me into this delightfully crafted mystery in the first sentence. The plot was complicated enough to keep the reader guessing who the villain actually was.

Very good a lot of reading between chapters! I enjoyed it throughly but hated that I have to get another book to continue reading.... When I thought this was part of the first book!
