A New York Times bestseller
A Good Morning America, FabFitFun, and Marie Claire Book Club Pick

In Five Years is as clever as it is moving, the rare read-in-one-sitting novel you won’t forget.” —Chloe Benjamin, New York Times bestselling author of The Immortalists

Perfect for fans of Me Before You and One Day—a striking, powerful, and moving love story following an ambitious lawyer who experiences an astonishing vision that could change her life forever.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Dannie Kohan lives her life by the numbers.

She is nothing like her lifelong best friend—the wild, whimsical, believes-in-fate Bella. Her meticulous planning seems to have paid off after she nails the most important job interview of her career and accepts her boyfriend’s marriage proposal in one fell swoop, falling asleep completely content.

But when she awakens, she’s suddenly in a different apartment, with a different ring on her finger, and beside a very different man. Dannie spends one hour exactly five years in the future before she wakes again in her own home on the brink of midnight—but it is one hour she cannot shake. In Five Years is an unforgettable love story, but it is not the one you’re expecting.

  • Couldn’t put it down!

I read this book in a day and told my best friend she has to read it. It doesn’t get boring and will make you not want to put it down... fair warning.. the end will leave you crying, but it’s such a beautiful story of friendship and love. Definitely a must read.

I sampled the first 32 pages and fell in love with the story. I read the book within 24 hours. Couldn’t stop reading it. Although the book made me sad, I still really enjoyed reading it.

This is the first book I’ve read in a long time and I couldn’t put it down, it was so good. I really hope there is a sequel to this book because there is so many unanswered questions. I need to see what happens next with Dannie! Please continue the series!

Honestly, the plot was not what I expected. However, the book was beautifully written about love and friendship. Enjoyed every minute reading it!

  • Beautifully written

The language in this book makes you want to slow down and enjoy every sentence. The author does an extraordinary job bringing the characters — and their emotions — to life. The plot was not what I was expecting (in a good way), and comes together beautifully at the end.
  • Mehh

This book went a total different direction. The writing was very charismatic and if you have a love for nyc you will enjoy this, however, the sample is far from what this book is really about. More of a friendship driven plot.
  • Disappointing ending

    By di pinto
The author does have talent and the book has some important things to say about love between friends and being open to life. The sample looked intriguing — a woman on her engagement night dreams that she wakes up 5 years in the future in an apartment other than her own, apparently living with a man other than her fiancé. An hour later she returns to reality. The story unfolds as she is haunted by the vision for the next 4 1/2 years as she pursues a busy career as a lawyer. Then, still unmarried, she meets the man in her dream under unexpected circumstances. The plot structure was a bit preposterous, but my expectations made it easy to suspend disbelief. Unfortunately the story veered off into a rather emotionally heavy direction and dragged a bit. I found the ending to be unrealistic, unsettled, and disappointing. I give it 3 stars.
